FUXIN CITY, China -- Chinese authorities said Monday a coal mine fire in Liaoning Province killed four people and injured 10 others.
The fire, which began Sunday afternoon at Xinglong Coal Mine in Fuxin City, forced the mine to close while the local government investigates the incident, Xinhua, China's official government-run news agency, reported Monday.
A government representative said the injured miners are in stable condition at three local hospitals. He didn't specify how many miners were working in the shaft at the time of the fire.
