STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- Sweden's aviation authority is investigating a mishap at Stockholm's Arlanda Airport Monday that badly damaged the engines of a Boeing 747 cargo jet.
A truck was on the tarmac behind the aircraft when the pilot started the engines in preparation for a flight to Hong Kong, Sweden's The Local reported.
Airport officials told the newspaper the incident may have been the result of a misunderstanding. They theorize that the pilot failed to check with the ground crew after he was given an all-clear to take off by the control tower, The Local said.
There were no injuries but the plane will remain in Stockholm until the engines can be repaired. The truck was also damaged.
