HAVANA -- Cuban leader Fidel Castro said in a nationally published essay the United States is intent on "world tyranny" and criticized CIA efforts to kill him.
The 80-year-old Castro said in his manifesto printed during the weekend in the state-run newspaper Granma that his purpose is "to carry on demonstrating the immense hypocrisy and the total lack of ethics which characterizes the actions, chaotic by nature, of the government of the United States."
Castro turned over control of the communist island last July to his younger brother Raul after announcing he has a gastro-intestinal illness.
