BRISTOL, England -- Police in Bristol, England, said a drug raid turned into a terror investigation after they allegedly found containers marked "hydrogen peroxide" in a house.
"If it is hydrogen peroxide that would obviously cause extreme concern," Steve Mortimer, assistant chief constable of Avon and Somerset Police, told Sky News.
"But we do have two men in custody, we have got the chemical taken away from the premises and we are reassuring the community and taking it seriously at this time of heightened vigilance."
Hydrogen peroxide was one of the ingredients used in the failed July 2005 bomb attack on London's transit system, Sky News said.
"Our top priority is public safety and while this incident does not involve a specific threat to anybody, police are undertaking an extensive investigation," a police statement said.
