MOGADISHU, Somalia -- Three police officers and at least one other person were wounded in a gun and grenade attack Monday in a market in Mogadishu, Somalia.
Two gunmen armed with pistols and grenades reportedly inflicted the damage, according to witnesses, and then walked away, the Shabelle Media Network reported.
One restaurant owner said the whole market was shut down around where the blast went off, adding that government troops sealed off the area and were opening fire indiscriminately.
"I have closed my restaurant because the customers fled after the blast occurred and the police opened fire. They were seizing people and asking them questions," he said.
The attack came one day after two government soldiers and three others were killed in the city.
