WARSAW, Poland — Polish doctors in the southern town of Trzebnica operated for six hours to reattach the arm of an 8-year-old boy who had the limb torn off by a washing machine.
Doctors said chances were good that the boy, identified only as Dominik, would have use of his reattached arm in the future, Polish Radio reported Monday.
It wasn’t immediately known how the boy had his arm amputated by the washing machine, the radio report said.
His aunt said Dominik was deeply shocked when he entered the kitchen without half of his arm. Dominik only came in to ask somebody to call an ambulance, she told Polish Radio.
