Thomas began his nearly 40-year career in journalism as a copyboy for NBC News in his native Washington, D.C. He also has worked as a general assignment reporter and anchor for KPRC-TV in Houston and for NBC News in Washington. For two years he hosted his own show on CNBC. It was nominated for a Cable Ace award as the best interview program on cable. He is a commentator/analyst for the Fox News Channel and appears weekly as a panelist on "Fox News Watch." In December 2002, Fox News Channel debuted his new show, "After Hours with Cal Thomas." Thomas is the author of 10 books, including Blinded by Might: Why the Religious Right Can't Save America (Harper-Collins/Zondervan). His most recent book, The Wit and Wisdom of Cal Thomas, was published in 2001.
