BEND, Ore. – Police cited an 89-year old Gilchrist man Wednesday afternoon for driving with a suspended license and recklessly endangering another person after his pickup swerved, crossed the center line and slammed head-on into a semi-truck pulling an empty trailer south of Bend on Highway 97. BEND, Ore. -- Seasonally adjusted unemployment rates in Central Oregon increased in again in March. Individual county rates ranged from 14.7 percent in Deschutes County – more than double than the rate of one year ago – to 18.5 percent in Crook County. BEND, Ore. -- The sport of snowkiting could soon face regulations in U.S. states like Oregon as a result of wilderness designations, an official says. BEND, Ore. -- Albertsons South has donated $2,000 to Bend's Community Center (BCC) to assist with food purchases during their 8-week kitchen remodel process.
