- For future reference, the Marine Corps doesn't have "drill sergeants". They have "drill instructors". Any Marine would insulted to be called a "drill sergeant".

- What Sgt. Glass did was no different than what drill sergeants have been doing for decades. Its part of the program, its expected, and generally its tolerated. "Drill" sergeants do just that - "drill" competence, compliance, resilience, and responsibility into the recruits. Sometimes the tactics aren't pretty, but the results have been apparent in the quality of our military.
