- Chuck, you're so off the mark it's scary. Seldom if ever has the public sector done things better than the private sector, but let's stick to the point.
You lament the fact that the minority hamstrings the public good with our "double majority" taxing-voting scheme. You're 180 degrees from correct.
If a true majority of citizens wanted to be taxed more, for more public agencies and programs, they would turn out in force and win the (election) day.
But even more cogent is the fact that tax-and-spenders need not simply wring their hands and concoct new ways to extract more money from fed-up taxpayers. They can simply send more money to their favorite causes and become the "living billboards" you espouse ... putting their money where their mouths are.
