The mock-outrage of this article simply defies comprehension.
"The tidal wave of outrage inside and outside the Catholic world is long past its peak".
The abject failure of the shining light of Christianity to simply develop and deploy a single universal declaration by the catholic church in regards how it will universally handle all current and future instances of sexual abuse of children by its clergy and that it should bestow upon each individual harmed by clergy abuse in the same Christian manner it treats its priests who have been harmed by society in some way, or failing that it should set a scale of payment and the means to define what is appropriate compensation in each individual case.
Outrage at other than the failure of this holiest of holies which simply cannot or is unwilling to take those steps for the sake of our children can only be described as mock-outrage and diversion. This church is unwilling to accept responsibility for its failures in the past. It is unable to accept the notion of restorative jutsice or human rights. That is failure. Universal, comprehensive and complete failure by the leader of Christianity - outrage at other than these failures is only mock-outrage.
