A great article! Bill I would like to thank you for the effort you put into this story, and for getting it out to the readership. While you did a great job of detailing and explaining the use and depth of this Psy-ops Journalism as it pertains to the military use of it overseas, I feel it important that mention be made of it's direct use concerning the media here at home.
One of the primary agencies which have become a master at not only planting stories by way of the media, but also by ''planting'' or ''embedding'' people in groups/affiliations to further their own agenda. I speak of the U.S. Border Patrol, or CBP as they are known today. Here on our South West border we share with Mexico, the Border Patrol all but control the ''free press'' and the TV networks. They continually plant stories by their PIO which are half truths at best, but mostly outright lies and distorted facts. In cases some ''reporters'' and editors work willingly with the Border Patrol Propaganda Machine in seeing this misinformation articles reach the public, and in other cases they are simply to lazy to do any research which would show that the Border Patrol's supplied information was actually quite false. Probably one of the agency's most glaring deceptions has been what is known as the: ''Minutemen Project'' While this ''project'' has apparently splintered into several different groups to the point that the general public (myself included) would have a large problem figuring out which one is which, I'll simply use The Minutemen. From the very first of this MM thing getting started, we who live on this border that it was quite odd that the this group which was ''going to show the Border Patrol how to secure the border''...had the same plan in mind as that of the Border Patrol! ''Park and Watch''! How odd it seemed that this new group was going to ''secure the border'' with the same silly plan which the Patrol had been using for ten years to no avail! Will it didn't take long and one reporter uncovered the truth...The Border Patrol was involved up to their eyeballs with the group, if in fact the ''group'' wasn't ran by them.
It isn't just overseas, to be sure!
