Actually the US/Nixon and Kissinger helped build the Khmer Rouge by secret and indiscriminate bombing & support for the terroristic & incompetent Lon Nol. For much more detailed history, read Sideshow by journalist William Shawcross. I am also working to help heal from the traumatic events in Cambodia. It was the North Vietnamese who saved Cambodia from the Khmer Rouge, while the US continued to support the Khmer Rouge & Chinese supporters after 1979 in a cynical move to counter the Vietnamese & its Soviet ally. We have plenty to atone for, but "cutting and running" is not among them.

Some were only watched horror thru the full eyes of television to what happened in Cambodia during the Khmer rouge regime, but I lived through it. I have taken a hard punishment that US left for us for being an ally with an American. It seems like dejavu all over again in Iraq. I hope that it is not another Nixon doctrine. I belive that congress should show the middle east nations that American is not going to turn their tails and run like they did with Cambodia and Vietnam. I hope that US shows the world that she can finish the job with pride and restore peace in the middle east.

America is the country of lobbists. American public is so weak and irresponsible. They are making the history repeats itself. They will have no place on earth to stand and prove that they are a reliable ally if they fail in Iraq. The world will laugh at them.

We watched the horror on the news of the Cambodian genocide and have read many stories since of America's turn-tail-and-run approach when the task became difficult. Our son is now working in Cambodia to help these people recover from America's cowardice. I hope our Congress does not make the same mistake in Iraq. The Congress did not "rebuke" the President as the evening news called it. They took the first cowardly step to have the blood of Iraqis on their hands if they do the same thing they did against Cambodia and Vietnam.
