- Now the meaning for the alphabet ‘T’ for teaching school kids has just doubled, i.e., T = TOBACCO & T = T. B.
The American surgeon and founder of the health food industries in America, DR. JOHN HARVEY KELLOGG [1852-1943] had said : “The tobacco business is a conspiracy against womanhood and manhood. It owes its origin to that scoundrel, Sir Walter Raleigh, who was likewise the founder of American slavery”.
The American journalist and publicist, GRAHAM LEE HEMMINGER, in his poetry, “Tobacco”, published in 1915, had written :
TOBACCO IS A DIRTY WEED : I LIKE IT.
IT SATISFIES NO NORMAL NEED : I LIKE IT.
IT MAKES YOU THIN, IT MAKES YOU LEAN,
IT TAKES THE HAIR RIGHT OFF YOUR BEAN ;
IT’S THE WORST DARN STUFF I’VE EVER SEEN :
I LIKE IT.
Just like Graham Hemminger, millions of people despite knowing well about the hazards of tobacco, continue to smoke their lives to premature death. Why ? A true answer is desirable.
