Hello Folks,
I am an out of towner, but will be passing through the Bend this month. I was wondering if there were any spots that I should check out while in the area.

I've got a question or two for you folks to help me with. This coming August I and 3 others will be coming to Oregon for 6 days of hiking to see some waterfalls in the area around Bend.
What are some of the nicer places to stay for my first 2 nights in or near Bend?
Also, how about a couple good restaurants that has good food/service and offer good views of the sourrounding countryside?
Any favorite waterfalls that we just can't miss will be helpful, although I have a couple waterfalls books used for guidance. I want your opinion on places we absolutely should not miss. Thank you very much for any info you provide for us.
