This has been a very popular demanding topic all over the internet. How do you bypass the bad spware/adaware that ends up slowing your computer down to a screeching halt. Well in my opinion here are some great software you should try out: (of course they are free) by the way, just search all these names in google or your favorite search engine:
Spybot Search and Destroy
Adaware SE Personal
Spyware Blaster
I'm not advertising or anything, I just like their software so much I recommend them to anyone. |

Thanks for the post. It is really helpful for n00bs. I'd like to add one more thing though. Never click the banners (most of time they are flashing that Your PC contains spyware, click to remove) on any website. These are spywares themselves... lol
Always use reputable programs, the three mentioned by brent are enough for spywares. _________________ Webmaster Tools & Resources... |

| Hehe Thanx for the compliment Sportsdude! Also if you like to keep your PC in tip top condition (running like you just got it out of the box), check out CCleaner (crap cleaner) in which does a disk cleanup, but in hyperspeed with more added features. Check it out at www.ccleaner.com Believe me the speed is crazy with a press of a button! |

I use Ad-Aware to fight with spywares and I'm quite satisfied with it. Getting a popup blocker is also a cool idea because most spywares comes from unwanted popups. Firefox web browser has built-in popup blocker. _________________ Poetry Love Poems - Love Poems, Gift Ideas & Much more... |

I have ZoneAlarm firewall + Spypot. ZoneAlarm doesn't let anything enter into my PC or allow malicious softwares to access internet. If anything enters by mistake, Spybot searches and destroy it. _________________ No siggy |

| Since I'm using internet, the only problem I faced is hijacking of browser's homepage. Someone recommended Hijackthis to me and it was spot-on to fix it for me. However, MyWebSearch is automatically installed on my PC after every few weeks and I have to remove it manually. Anyone know how to block MyWebSearch toolbar to install automatically? |
