My buddies who are married with children say they envy me because I'm single and I can do whatever and whoever I want, while I secretly wish all that they have. It's "cool" or "macho" to go out on a lot of dates, but not very manly to admit feeling lonely and demoralized because you're "still" single (in my thirties).
They think I'm out on the prowl, but I feel like a lone wolf who had lost his appetite for meat. Don't get me wrong, I love sex. But sex without intimacy is like eating candy -- it's not sustenance for the soul, and usually leaves you with a stomach ache the next morning.
