There's an interesting correlation with the obescity in the US in which many people whom are overweight watch the television for a really long extended periods of time. You would think with the commercials about getting thin and fit wouldn't affect the obescity population. It's kind of interesting seeing how companies put out thousands upon millions of dollars, but well the obescity rate is growing even faster nowadays compared to past years.

Seriously, this should also extend to sitting for hours on end in front of a computer at work and then at home on the internet. That can't really help encourage an active lifestyle.
