The original does not need remaking. It stands up perfectly well today. This is pure laziness on Hollywood's part. The actors being used are not as skilled or as powerful as the original cast. We know what will happen. We know damien is the anti-christ, we know he kills his mum. we know Thorn dies at the end attempting to kill Damien. We know Damien's nanny hangs herself at his birthday party, we know a preist is killed trying to warn them. We know the photographer gets his head chopped off looking for the knives. What exactly is the value of this remake? It wll be lesser film on almost every level except (yawn) sfx. Everyone has an opportunity to send a message to Hollywood. on the 6th of the 6th, instead of going to the cinema, go to the video shop and rent the original.
