A Bend driver reportedly speeding on the snowy, icy and slick road conditions of Century Drive hit an SUV as it was making a left turn Sunday afternoon, resulting in injuries that sent two people to the hospital and causing significant damage to both vehicles, deputies reported. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of a single-vehicle rollover crash on Knott Road just south of Bend that resulted in the death of the 19-year-old driver early this morning, deputies reported. Kirian E. The results of this month’s traffic saturation patrol conducted Wednesday by the Multi-Agency Traffic (MAT) team in school zones throughout Bend are in: 84 drivers were cited for speeding, and another 68 received warnings. All three counties in Central Oregon saw their unemployment rates increase from November to December, and all three rates increased more than expected, the Oregon Employment Department announced Thursday. Deschutes County had the lowest rate at 6.1 percent, while Jefferson County had the highest at 8.3 percent.
