The Deschutes County Road Department has announced that on Wednesday, July 26 stop signs will be installed on Hamby Road at its intersection with Neff Road in Bend, Oregon. The addition of the stop signs will result in the intersection becoming a 4-way stop. BEND•Deschutes National Forest visitors should avoid the popular Green Lakes Trail in the Three Sisters Wilderness Area July 24-28, while crews erect a new bridge over Fall Creek. Forest Service managers will close the trail at that time so crews can quickly and safely complete the project undisturbed.  They ask hikers and horseback riders to use nearby trails in the interim. Effective July 20th the City of Bend’s Ride the River shuttle willdiscontinue its extended hours for Munch’n Music. The Ride the River fixedbus route began serving rafters on June 17th.  Although usage is extremelyhigh for day use, usage for the shuttle for the Munch ’n Music concerts islow. Deschutes County’s Weed Manager, Dan Sherwin, is participating in a statewide pilot program to improve the quality of hay and straw in Central Oregon. The voluntary fee based program allows Sherwin to inspect and certify local hay and straw fields for noxious weeds. Adelle Dittman has joined Bend-headquartered ad agency Ralston360 as Graphic Designer. Dittman has worked as a freelance artist since moving to Bend a year and a half ago. Previously, she served as a graphic designer at Portland, Oregon ad agency Kauffman & Associates. Dittman holds a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from Portland State University.
