The Deschutes County Road Department has announced that on Wednesday, July 26 stop signs will be installed on Hamby Road at its intersection with Neff Road in Bend, Oregon.
The addition of the stop signs will result in the intersection becoming a 4-way stop. Anyone with questions may phone 541-388-6581 for more information.

Effective July 20th the City of Bend’s Ride the River shuttle willdiscontinue its extended hours for Munch’n Music. The Ride the River fixedbus route began serving rafters on June 17th. Although usage is extremelyhigh for day use, usage for the shuttle for the Munch ’n Music concerts islow. KPOV Hoopla
KPOV’s 2nd annual Hoopla celebrates one year being on the air with music, food and fun. KPOV will broadcast live programming from their parking lot and studios. Community members can enjoy music from Mark Ransom and friends (local community jamming), Quincy Street (bluegrass) and Scott Huckaby (sounds illuminated), as well as food from Parrilla Grill and a kids hula hooping clinic from Fireflyte (a local fire / dance performance group).

Deschutes County’s Weed Manager, Dan Sherwin, is participating in a statewide pilot program to improve the quality of hay and straw in Central Oregon. The voluntary fee based program allows Sherwin to inspect and certify local hay and straw fields for noxious weeds. The primary goal of the program is to prevent noxious weeds from growing on public lands and to give added value to hay and straw grown in Central Oregon.

Residents of Bend may take advantage of a free collection event for household hazardous waste on Saturday, June 17. The event will be held from 9 am to 3 pm at the County Public Works Complex at 1150 SE 27th Street (next to the Central Oregon Humane Society).
You may dispose of aerosols, batteries, cleaners, fuels, motor oil, paint, poisons, pesticides, thermometers, fluorescent lights, solvents, and more.
