REDMOND, Ore. – Redmond Police on Tuesday arrested a 22-year old Crooked River Ranch man who had allegedly been impersonating a doctor, administering medication, and performing medical procedures including minor surgery on several people throughout Central Oregon. The suspect -- whom police say has no formal medical training -- was charged with more than two dozen crimes including assault, identity theft, sexual abuse, drug charges and more.

MADRAS, Ore. – A lengthy investigation led to the arrest Friday afternoon of three men -- two suspected of selling drugs in the Bend and Madras areas, and one for possession – after police stopped their vehicle and found over 18 grams of methamphetamine and dozens of morphine pills, police reported.

TERREBONNE, Ore. – The search for a 19-year-old man who went missing Saturday afternoon after he disappeared into the swift water of Crooked River at Smith Rock State Park is continuing Monday, although the mission is now likely that of recovery instead of rescue, officials reported.

LA PINE, Ore. – A La Pine woman has been issued a $1,551 penalty by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) for allegedly allowing the open burning of prohibited materials on property she rented at 15959 Jack Pine Loop Muller in the Deschutes County community.
The tenant, Patricia Sue Wishon, has appealed the penalty.

REDMOND, Ore. – Officials evacuated and sealed off the Redmond High School gym on Friday after asbestos-tainted material was knocked off the ceiling by a tennis ball. The gym will remain closed until further notice.

SISTERS, Ore. – The driver of an SUV died early this morning when the vehicle struck a utility pole and caught on fire about 3 ½ miles east of Sisters on Highway 126 West, deputies reported.
