A 76-year old man reportedly suffering from Alzheimer’s disease was located by search and rescue personnel Thursday afternoon about three hours after he was reported missing after he failed to return from a walk to the end of his driveway in a rural neighborhood about ten miles south of Prineville, deputies reported.

Parents have been informed to be on the lookout for a man who exhibited suspicious behavior and approached two ten-year-old boys after they were dropped off by a school bus on Monday afternoon in the Terrebonne area, deputies reported.

Cougars have been sighted three times in the Dry Canyon area of Redmond over the last three weeks, authorities said, prompting safety reminders for residents who live in or near “cougar country”.

An investigation into the death of a 44-year old Prineville woman is being conducted by the Prineville Police Department and Crook County District Attorney, authorities reported.
Police responded to 3212 NE Yellowpine Road shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, where the body of Gerie Lyn Dixon was found.

A 13-year-old girl was flown to the hospital by a helicopter ambulance with suspected head injuries after she was struck by a vehicle in southwest Redmond this morning, police reported.
The accident occurred about 9:15 a.m. near SW Highland Avenue and SW 23rd Street, Redmond Police Officer Jonny Dickson said. The 19-year old driver of an automobile that struck a bicyclist as he attempted to cross Highway 97 Friday night was not at fault, police said.
According to a Redmond Police Department news release, officers responded to a reported vehicle versus bicyclist accident 2071 South Highway 97 shortly before 8 p.m. on September 14.
The bike rider, David Reed, 45, was transported to St. Charles Medical Center in Redmond where he was treated and later released.

Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies are asking the public’s help in finding out who is responsible for a rash of spray-painted graffiti that included swastikas and the phrase “White Power” which were discovered Sunday morning at several Sisters-area businesses and roadways.
The sheriff’s office received several complaints on the morning of August 26 reporting the criminal mischief, Sgt. Vance Lawrence and Deputy Russell Stanage reported in a news release.
