POWELL BUTTE, Ore. – An ongoing investigation and a search warrant execution at a Powell Butte residence Saturday afternoon led to the seizure of 12 horses and their caretaker being cited for a dozen charges of animal neglect, deputies reported.
According to Crook County Sheriff’s Sgt. James C. Savage, Robert Albring Jr., 35, was cited for a single count of first-degree animal abuse, and 11 counts of second-degree animal abuse.

LA PINE, Ore. -- A Canadian internet yellow pages company is now prohibited from offering its allegedly deceptive services to Oregon businesses, thanks to a complaint by a La Pine small business owner, the State’s Attorney General announced today.

OAKRIDGE, Ore. – Four adults, two men and two women, were killed early this morning when their SUV crossed the oncoming lane of Highway 58 about five miles east of Oakridge, went off the road and became airborne when it rolled down an embankment and crashed into a large tree, crushing the passenger compartment, police reported.
