A Klamath Falls man and his six-year-old daughter were injured Wednesday night on Highway 97 when a commercial truck lost control on an icy bridge, crossed the centerline, and slammed into their pickup. Moments later, the pickup was hit by a second commercial truck when it was unable to stop, and the father and daughter were trapped inside the smashed vehicle for over two hours before firefighters could remove them, troopers reported.

Oregon Department of Transportation crews closed U.S. Highway 20 between mileposts 75 and 80 this morning. The Santiam Pass areas between Camp Sherman and Detroit were hit with two snow slides and have reportedly trapped two trucks between them.

Two people were seriously injured and four others suffered less severe injuries in a rollover crash Tuesday afternoon on icy Highway 20E about 35 miles southeast of Bend, Oregon, deputies reported.
Deschutes County Sheriff’s Sgt. Ronny Dozier and Deputy Kevin Turpen said that traveling too fast for road conditions likely contributed to the accident, although the investigation is continuing.

A 49-year old Sisters man was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly driving drunk and other crimes after he led police on a 13 mile vehicle pursuit at speeds up to 80-mph on icy highways, slid into a snowbank, continued driving even after all four tires were spiked, then finally came to a stop.
