SALEM, Ore. -- Scammers are already using President Obama's economic stimulus package to try and rip off consumers, the Oregon Department of Justice (ODOJ) reported today. Email messages sent to potential victims ask for bank information, claiming they will directly deposit stimulus money. Instead, scammers drain the consumer's bank account and vanish. SALEM, Ore. – Deputies are seeking a masked suspect who held up at gunpoint a Salem strip club early this morning. EUGENE, Ore. - U.S. researchers say a person who lives in a neighborhood with more fast food outlets and less opportunities to walk has a higher risk of weight gain. PORTLAND, Ore. - The Vatican can be sued for abuse by its priests, even though the Holy See is considered a sovereign nation, a U.S. appeals court ruled. OREGON CITY - A youth basketball coach currently facing sexual abuse charges in Clackamas County, Ore., has a rape conviction in his past, records show.
