The Nasdaq Stock Market Thursday officially delisted struggling San Diego-based defense contractor JMAR Technologies. The company, which develops laser-based technology for the U.S. government and for commercial applications, was suspended from the market in December because its share price had slipped below the minimum threshold of $1 a share and below the $2.5 million shareholders' equity requirement. COLUMBUS, Ohio - A state appeals board was asked Friday to stop the expansion of a Stark County landfill, which already is under way, because of two fires burning under the original 88 acres of the landfill. Jose Luis Betancourt, the "Navy Mayor" of San Diego who went on to become chief administrative officer of San Diego City Schools, is under federal investigation and may face conflict-of-interest charges over his relationship with two government contractors.
