First captured on security camera, and then captured by police, 37-year old Roger L. VanWormer now faces multiple charges related to Thursday’s armed robbery of a convenience store in southwest Redmond. Sunny Malik, the owner of Daisy Quick Shop, offered a $1,000 reward Friday afternoon for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the robber, said Redmond Police officer Keith Knight.   Roger L. Firefighters quickly extinguished an electrical fire in a southeast Bend home Saturday morning, keeping damages estimated at $3,500 contained to the kitchen area.  Homeowners found flames inside the dishwasher when they traced a smell of burning plastic inside their single-story home. A Bend man was seriously injured Friday afternoon when a large rock apparently rolled down an embankment above Highway 20 east of Sweet Home and crashed through his pickup’s windshield, authorities reported.   OSP troopers believe the large rock (above) that crashed through the windshield of Sean Passage's vehicle rolled from an enbankment above Highway 20.   The Bend man managed to maintain control of his Toyota pickup (below), and flagged down a passing motorist for assistance. A person whose body was found in a double-wide manufactured home that burned Wednesday afternoon in the Deschutes River Woods subdivision in Bend died of smoke-inhalation, said investigators.  The victim has been identified, although the Sheriff’s Office has withheld the name pending notification of family members. Last week, a Portland fan accused NBA referee Rodney Mott of directing an "obscene gesture" and "inappropriate comment" toward him following Portland's 93-90 home victory over Miami on Sunday. The league conducted a cursory investigation, immediately suspended Mott for three games, and promptly issued a press release to publicize the reprimand.
