A ceremony marking the signing of a proclamation with Oregon traffic safety leaders and MADD “tying one on” police patrol cars will kickoff the holiday season’s DUII enforcement campaign. Patrol cars from the Oregon State Police, Oregon State Sheriff’s Association and Oregon Association Chiefs of Police, as well as numerous other cars, will get the symbolic ribbon at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training headquarters in Salem. An 18-year old Bend man was arrested Tuesday during a traffic stop in connection with a rash of criminal mischief and car clout activity to vehicles, auto theft, and arson of a water company truck which sparked a 10-acre blaze in northeast Bend during late October.

OCHOCO DISTRICTPRINEVILLE RESERVOIR WMA: The western length of the North Side access road was closed Nov. 15. The remainder of the road will close Dec. 1 when all access becomes non-motorized to protect wintering big game.

With Sisters Boy Scouts yet to complete their "Scouting for Food" good turn, it appears the region's generosity will surpass last year.
Scout executive Jared Vanderhoff says, "All towns have reported and our total comes to 11,000 pounds of food donated so far, but we will end up ahead of that because Sisters Scouts are doing a food drive with their sponsoring organization later this month. They expect to do about 1,000 pounds.

Searchers found the snowmobiles of the father and son who had been missing since Sunday, followed foot tracks leading from the area, and located the men Tuesday about 3:30 p.m. Only the son survived, said authorities.
Brian Rouse, 29, was reported to be in serious condition at St. Charles Medical Center after being transported by an Oregon National Guard Blackhawk helicopter late last night.
Roger Rouse, 53, is deceased.

The extensive search for the father and son who failed to return from a Sunday snowmobile ride was over when the two were located this afternoon about 3:30 p.m.
According to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, Roger and Brian Rouse were located near Bridge Creek drainage, which is approximately 2 miles west of the Tumalo Falls trailhead, and 10 miles west of Bend. The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office has announced that two snowmobiles belonging to Roger and Brian Rouse have been found, and searchers are following foot tracks in the area hoping to locate the missing men. Searchers located the two snowmobiles about 1 p.m. Tuesday, said Deschutes County deputies.
