Two men were arrested early Friday morning on theft, burglary, and conspiracy charges when they were caught allegedly stealing a large canister of nitrous oxide -– commonly know as “laughing gas” -- from a northeast Bend dental office, said police. State Police troopers in central Oregon had two separate unusual incidents that resulted in two drivers being arrested at the same time for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII) in both cases. This was a very bad year as far as illegal kills during the deer and elk seasons, according to Senior Trooper Amos Madison, an Oregon State Police fish and game officer based in Prineville. A 21-year old Bend man was arrested Monday afternoon on drug and weapon charges when detectives witnessed him attempting to sell crystal methamphetamine in the parking lot of Cascade Village Shopping Center in north Bend, said authorities.
