Movie Review of "BORAT" Those who have seen previews of "Borat" are calling this film a new kind of guerilla comedy. You know, the usual.  A mix of road comedy ... [full story]

I don’t know about you, but I am fed up with the negative campaigning in our country and in our state. Politicians seem to be adopting a “Survivor” attitude of kicking someone off the island instead of telling us why they should remain on the island. Take for example the governor’s race. (First off, for the record, I should state that I have no political affiliation because I am sick of both parties playing to ... [full story]

Linton Lake: A large earthquake shook the Central Oregon Cascades. Lava began oozing from the base of North Sister and flowed down the drainage of White Branch Creek to the west. The flow continued for about 12 miles, jumping into the next drainage of Linton Creek and creating a dam. A thousand years later, I stand on the shores of Linton Lake and try to imagine the scene -- the smoky, fiery lava bulldozing its ... [full story]

As a responsible member of the motoring media, I'm having some guilt for liking the new, large sport utility vehicles from General Motors. I've just finished a week in a GMC Yukon and if you need one of these things, the 2007 model is a desirable improvement over the 2006.   GMC YUKON - The GMC Yukon is not just a dressed-up truck. The SUV is a fine cruising machine, even when costing more than $50,000. ... [full story]
