Bend Fire Department’s Santa Express food and clothing drive is heading into Bend neighborhoods December 3 through December 6, 2007. TULSA, Okla. -- Dr. W. Dean Hidy, the Oklahoma surgeon responsible for exposing serial killer Nannie Doss, has died at the age of 79.Hidy was a 26-year-old intern at Tulsa's Hillcrest Hospital when, in 1954, he refused to sign the death certificate for Doss' fifth husband, Sam, until an autopsy had been performed, The Tulsa World reported Friday.When authorities learned Sam Doss died of arsenic poisoning, they launched an investigation into the deaths of Doss' ... CHICAGO -- Amtrak's Pere Marquette traveling from Grand Rapids, Mich., slammed into the rear of a Norfolk Southern freight train on Chicago's South Side, Amtrak said.The four-car train -- three passenger cars and one locomotive -- remained upright. The five Amtrak crew members aboard were seriously injured, Amtrak said. WASHINGTON -- Internet credit card contributions may be eligible for matching funds under the presidential public funding program, the U.S. elections watchdog said.The Federal Election Commission unanimously approved an advisory opinion in response to a request by the Chris Dodd for President campaign committee, the commission said in a news release.
