Three teenagers, two 18-year-olds and one aged 17, were arrested Thursday night in connection with spray-painted graffiti on several buildings and vehicles in northwest Bend, police announced Sunday.

A 51-year old Redmond woman who witnessed a crash roused the allegedly drunk, elderly driver and escorted him from his burning vehicle just before it exploded Sunday evening, police reported.
Wendy Peterson likely saved the life of 72-year old Robert Sykes from Crooked River Ranch after he lost control of his car and crashed into the south shoulder of NW Pershall Way in the 4400 block about 6:20 p.m., December 23.

Two Redmond residents, a man and a woman, were arrested Friday evening for crimes related to the alleged sale of methamphetamine after they were stopped with cash and drugs in a stolen vehicle that had eluded deputies the day before, authorities reported.

A 27-year old Bend man was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after he was run over then pinned underneath a snowmobile that got away from it’s rider when the throttle stuck open Friday, deputies reported.
Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies, Search and Rescue (SAR), and U.S. Forest Service (USFS) personnel responded to Trail # 6 near Junction 160 in the Moon Mountain area after they received a 911 call about 11:20 a.m., December 21.

A 26-year old Bend man who became lost while snowboarding on Mt. Bachelor Friday was found hours later, safe and sound, authorities reported.
Mt. Bachelor Ski Patrol, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue (SAR) and U.S. Forest Service (USFS) personnel all joined together to search for Tommy James Hackenbruck of Bend, Sheriff’s Cpl. Wayne Morgan said.

A 24-year old Madras man who became separated from his friend as they rode snowmobiles in the Moon Mountain area Friday night suffered minor frostbite before his rescue hours later, authorities reported.
