NEW YORK - A U.S. fertility doctor says that he will soon be able to allow parents to choose their babies' eye and hair color.
Dr. Jeff Steinberg, whose Fertility Institute has clinics in New York and Los Angeles, says research that has already made it possible to select a baby's gender has also yielded the technology to enable parents to make eye and hair color choices, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

ATLANTA - U.S. foodborne illness outbreaks such as the one recently traced to a Georgia peanut plant rarely result in people being jailed, observers say.
Even though nine deaths and nearly 700 illnesses have been attributed to salmonella-laced peanut paste made at the Peanut Corporation of America facility in Blakely, Ga., past instances show few arrests or criminal prosecutions stemming from such outbreaks, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday.

BEND, Ore. – Bend Police say they have no suspects in the rash of vehicle break-ins that occurred Saturday in the southeast part of the city, and are encouraging the public to contact them with any information they may have pertaining to the case.

NEW YORK - The ex-husband of octuplets mom Nadya Suleman told a U.S. tabloid show they separated in 2000 because they could not conceive children together.
In an interview with "Inside Edition," Marcos Gutierrez said none of Suleman's 14 children are his.

OCEANSIDE, N.Y. - An Oceanside, N.Y., teenager is suing former classmates and Facebook for alleged bullying in a forum on the online social-networking Web site.
Denise Finkel, who is seeking $3 million, alleges four former classmates at Oceanside High School created a private Facebook group to expose her to "public hatred, ridicule and disgrace," said the lawsuit filed in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan.
