FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A wildlife exhibitor in Davie, Fla., allegedly mistreated its animals by not providing veterinary care, along with proper food and shelter, officials say.
U.S. Department of Agriculture officials have accused Vanishing Species Wildlife, Inc. of violating the federal Animal Welfare Act by not providing proper housing and services to the tigers, cougars and other animals housed at the Florida site, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel said Monday.

DULUTH, Minn. - Police in Duluth, Minn., say they have arrested a 23-year-old man after he allegedly went on a crime spree filled with "strange behavior."
Duluth Police Lt. Scott Jenkins said Antonio Thomas Robledo was arrested last week after he allegedly stole a car and some gasoline, leading to a police chase that included taunting 911 calls by the suspect, the Duluth (Minn.) News Tribune said Monday.

WASHINGTON - A Girl Scouts official says attempts are under way to modernize the U.S. youth organization in an attempt to stop a decline in enrollment.
Eileen Doyle, the senior vice president of program development for the Girl Scouts, said with enrollment on the decline, Scout officials have begun changing the base activities of the group in order to appeal to modern young women, The Washington Post (NYSE:WPO) said Monday.

PRINCETON, N.J. - A Gallup survey indicates Republicans and Democrats in the U.S. Congress have seen a boost in popularity in recent weeks.
While the approval ratings remain low, the increases suggest both parties have benefited from the change in government from the Bush administration to the Obama administration, USA Today reported Monday.
