Over 100,000 pounds of frozen hamburger patties and ground beef sold in Oregon, Arizona, California, Idaho and Washington have been recalled for possible E. coli contamination, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Friday. A woman and three children were sent to the hospital Friday afternoon following a head-on crash between a passenger van and a commercial truck carrying propane tanks on Highway 26 just east of Sandy, Oregon, authorities said. A 40-year old Redmond man fatally shot himself at a campsite in Tumalo State Park Friday night, authorities said.  Oregon State Police (OSP) and local emergency personnel responded to the scene off OB Riley Road north of Bend in response to a 911 call made by witnesses to the incident about 11:30 p.m., April 20. A high school sophomore was arrested yesterday after he was found to be in possession of three loaded handguns with extra ammunition on the campus of Todd Beamer High School in Federal Way, Washington.  The guns, in addition to three others found later, were stolen early Thursday morning in a Pierce County residential burglary. HOUSTON - A report of a man with a weapon Friday prompted the evacuation of the Johnson Space Center in Houston. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration's communications and engineering departments are in the building, KHOU-TV reported. A 44-year old Milwaukie, Oregon man was killed Thursday afternoon when he lost control of his motorcycle while rounding a curve, crossed the highway and hit a rocky embankment on Highway 224 about ten miles west of Ripplebrook.  Oregon State Police (OSP) say that excessive speed may have contributed to the crash.
