OSLO, Norway - Firefighters and police averted a series of gas cylinder explosions during a fire at an Oslo, Norway, construction site but traffic into the city was snarled. SHANGHAI - A court in Shanghai on Tuesday sentenced China's former top food and drug regulator to death for accepting bribes of $800,000. Prosecutors said Zheng Xiaoyu took the bribes between 1998 and 2005, when he served as chief of the Food and Drug Administration, in exchange for approving drug production licenses, the Xinhua news agency reported. BEIRUT, Lebanon - Clashes between Lebanese troops and Islamist militants were reported Tuesday, the ninth consecutive day of the fighting in and around Beirut. GAZA - Israeli forces raided a Palestinian refugee camp Tuesday, killing two Hamas members and arresting several Palestinians. Israel arrested members of both the Hamas and Fatah factions at the Balata refugee camp in Nalbus, Ynetnews reported. HAMBURG, Germany - Police clashed with activists at a demonstration Tuesday against security plans for the upcoming G8 summit in Germany.
