TOKYO - Japan's agriculture minister, who had faced a political funds scandal, was found dead in his Tokyo residence Monday from an apparent suicide. The death of Toshikatsu Matsuoka, who was found hanged, would be a blow to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who had supported him against those calling for his resignation over the scandal, the Kyodo news agency reported. BAGHDAD - U.S. troops arrested three suspected terrorists and seized weapons in a raid aimed at rooting out militants in southern Baghdad, the military said. KABUL, Afghanistan - More than 20 Taliban fighters who ambushed a coalition of U.S.-backed troops and Afghan police were killed Monday in southern Afghanistan, authorities said. Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend proved to be very busy for Deschutes County Search and Rescue (SAR) and local fire rescue crews. A father and three children of a Nampa, Idaho family died Friday evening when their SUV collided head-on with a commercial truck and trailer on Highway 95, about 15 miles north of the Oregon-Nevada border.
