BEND CITY POLICE BLOTTER During the week, there were 6 reports of theft from vehicles with an estimated value of stolen items of $1,988. Four of the 6 reports involved unlocked vehicles. Reports also indicate 6 bicycles valued at $4,575 were stolen. §         6/6. Curious about how much Bend has changed in the past two decades? Ask Bev Sherrer.  The well-known realtor around town has watched the city grow exponentially and has enjoyed her role in helping those coming into the community. Last week, the Bend Weekly reported that area market prices jumped to No. 6 in year-to-year housing for the first quarter of 2006, coming in at 34.7 percent.  Bend’s 7 percent increase actually topped the nation’s hottest market, St. George, Utah in year-to-year figures.  However, CNNMoney.com reports it is not a matter of a boom, but housing prices in many markets, including Bend, being overpriced. A 53 year old Lapine resident, Kenneth Wagner, was shot and critically injured at about 11 pm on Tuesday, June 20th. The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office responded to 16022 Strawn Road to find Wagner outside the residence with a gunshot wound to the torso.
