Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Father’s Day Weekend Youth Angling Event at Century Pond drew close to 100 participants. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife stocked 400 legal-sized and 100 trophy-sized rainbow trout into Century Pond and ODFW staff and volunteers were present to assist kids learning to fish and or improve their existing skills.

BAYTOWN, Texas - A Texas woman trying to keep her car died when dragged by the tow truck her ex-husband sent to get the vehicle.
Investigators in Harris County say Cathy Deemer apparently suffered a fatal head injury Saturday night, the Houston Chronicle reported.
"We didn't get along, that's no secret," her ex-husband, Oda Soileau, said. "Who intends for something like this to happen? I didn't."

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Winds whipped a California wildfire past a fire break Tuesday, sending residents of one hamlet fleeing and hurting firefighters' efforts to contain the blaze.
Even before the 2,730-acre wildfire near Lake Tahoe jumped the fire line, officials had expected it would take until Sunday to fully contain the fire, which had consumed almost 200 houses and 75 other structures, the Tahoe Daily Tribune reported.

WASHINGTON - A federal judge who approved wiretaps for terrorism suspects defended the judicial review of applications for such eavesdropping.
U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth Saturday described cases in which judges supervising wiretap applications under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act approved applications, including Sept. 11, 2001, when he happened to be driving by the Pentagon, The Washington Post reported.

BOSTON - A Boston woman admitted Tuesday she lied about her son being shot by intruders, admitting the 8-year-old boy was killed by his cousin.
Lakeisha Gadson, speaking to reporters outside her home, said LaQuarrie Jefferson's shooting was accidental, the Boston Herald reported. She originally said three masked men broke in Sunday night.

A 26-year old Redmond man was transported to the hospital by helicopter after he was rescued from the bottom of a steep 200-foot embankment leading down to the Clackamas River east of Estacada on Monday evening, deputies reported.

The Oregon Air National Guard announced that an F-15 jet fighter has crashed about 35 miles off the Oregon Coast this afternoon.
The plane from the 142nd Fighter Wing Oregon Air National Guard was on a training mission out of Portland Air Base when it went down west of Cannon Beach about 1:35 p.m. Tuesday.
Search and rescue operations are underway by United States Coast Guard personnel from North Bend and Astoria.
