The first Chinese automobile manufactured in North America will be a three-wheeled vehicle made in a factory on the outskirts of Tijuana, Mexico. MELBOURNE - Emergency crews are struggling with the worst flooding in decades in Australia's southeast Victoria state. The Melbourne Herald Sun said more than 100 people were evacuated Thursday as floodwaters inundated parts of the Gippsland region. WASHINGTON - A Fox News poll released Thursday has more bad news for President George W. Bush, finding that only 31 percent of U.S. voters approve of his performance. That's the lowest approval rating the poll has ever given Bush. Sixty percent of those surveyed give him a negative rating. SANTIAGO, Chile - A moderate earthquake Thursday rattled central Chile, registering 5.6 on the Richter scale but causing little damage, the U.S. Geological Survey said. TORONTO - Small urban areas in Canada have higher overall crime rates than rural or large urban areas, a study of 2005 police data found. The overall crime rate in small urban areas was 43 percent higher than in large urban areas, and 58 percent higher than in rural areas, the study concluded. WASHINGTON - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has imposed an "import alert" on five types of fish raised on Chinese fish farms. Under the alert imposed Thursday, importers must show by independent testing that the fish has no dangerous contaminants, effectively removing the United States as a market, The New York Times reported.
