Good news is surfacing on the future of the American labor force. The national average ACT composite test score increased this year for the third time in the past five years and the percentage of high school graduates ready for college-level course work continued to grow as well. Q: I am wondering if you might have any information on the vase in this photo. A friend gave it to me in 1976. All she told me was that it was very old. Q: When the cicadas arrived in June, the two sugar maples in my front yard were inundated with them. Once they were gone, small branches with a few leaves on them began falling. Police are looking for a man who held up the Burger King restaurant in north Bend at gunpoint on Tuesday night then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. According to a news release prepared by Bend Police Sgt. Bend Police are investigation a reported near-drowning at the Juniper Swim & Fitness Center on Tuesday afternoon when a boy about three-years-old was pulled unresponsive from the swimming pool, officials said.
