The Humane Society of Central Oregon needs the communities help in providing premium kitten, puppy, adult dog and cat food to feed the 158 animals currently in our shelter and foster homes.  The shelter cares for nearly 5,000 animals each year, and asks the public's assistance in the feeding of these homeless animals. More than 450 kindergarten through third grade R.E. Bend has long been touted by national publications as one of the best places to live, so it may not come as a surprise that Money Magazine has now ranked it as one of the top 100 places to retire. Jared Vanderhoff is the new Senior District Executive for the Crater Lake Council's Fremont District, Boy Scouts of America, which serves central Oregon. He comes to the district from the Oregon Trail Council, having held posts in Corvallis, Newport and Springfield.
