by Bend Weekly News Sources

Fifth Major U.S. Tour in 2 Years Starts Next Week

Platinum-selling supergroup Celtic Woman scored a major victory this week with the #4 debut of their latest album "A New Journey" on The Billboard 200, their highest chart position ever. The 5-piece Irish vocal group kicks off their biggest U.S. tour to date on February 14 in Tampa, FL, with 88 shows that will keep them on the road through May.

"Celtic Woman is a phenomenon," said Ian Ralfini, General Manager, Manhattan Records. "Their third CD, A New Journey, entering at #4 proves that there is a healthy demand for adult music in today's marketplace. We are proud to be a part of their many successes, having already sold over 2 million units, and look forward to many more reasons to celebrate in the future."

Celtic Woman have built up a massive fan base in the US over the past two years with their enchanting mix of traditional Irish fare, contemporary songs, and original works by musical director David Downes. A New Journey joins an impressive resume that already includes:

  * 95 straight weeks with the #1 album on the Billboard World Music chart.

  * Platinum status for their self-titled debut CD and DVD

  * Two PBS specials that have each aired 1000 times on over 90% of the PBS stations in the US.
