June 10
          Bend Elks beat Seattle Rainiers 14-6 in 7.5 innings.
          Cody Knight, pitcher; Quinn Clair, infielder; Drew Rundle, outfielder; all of Bend, and Marques Hase of Redmond were all selected to play in the State-Metro All Star Series.
June 12
          Bend Elks trounced the Pacific Javelinas of Portland, 9-0.
June 15
          In the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League opener, the Bend Elks defeated the Aloha Knights 1-0.
June 16
          Summit baseball coach Mike Durre resigns to spend more time with his family.  A replacement search is underway.
          The Aloha Knights triumphed over the Bend Elks 7-1, their first loss of the season.
June 17
          Bend Elks lost 6-5 to the Aloha Knights.
          Drew Rundle, a recent Bend High School graduate, signed with the Chicago Cubs. Terms of the contract include a $500,000 signing bonus. He will be assigned to the Cubs’ Arizona Rookie League Team in Mesa, Arizona.
June 16
          Juniper Golf Club of Redmond was selected to be the site of the 2007 Oregon Open Invitational, according to a news release by the Pacific Northwest Section PGA of America. The event is scheduled for June 22 through June 28.
June 11
          The overall winner of the Dirty Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) was Max King at 1 hour, 14 minutes and 22 seconds. The fastest women’s time was 1:28:49 by Pam Bradbury of Bend.
June 17
          Paul Parsons of Bend came in 1st of the 10k River Trail Ramble with a time of 37 minutes, 50 seconds. Womens’ division winner was Nikki Lewis of Redmond at 45:00. In the 5k race, winners were Justin Freyermuth (18:33) and MacKenzie Allen (21:50).
Track & Field:
June 10, 11
          81 year old Jack Cleveland of Bend took 1st place at the Portland Masters Classic and USA Track and Field Oregon Association Championships held at Mt. Hood Community College with a pole vault of 7 feet 2 ¼ inches.
