If you’re tired of the old popcorn tecture on a ceiling, you can remove it and smooth out the ceiling. It’s messy project but there is no difficulty to it, and the homeowner can do this without the help of a contractor.

  • Older popcorn ceilings can have asbestos in them and should be removed by a professional - or at the very least a good respirator should be worn. The ceilings in our c. 1970 condo tested positive for asbestos. We opted to leave them in place.
