Recent Sisters High School graduate Scott Barton tied for first place with a 5-under-par 67 at Portland Golf Club in the qualifying stage of the Oregon Amateur Championship.
Scott Barton advanced to the round of 32 in No. 2 seed position; and Jessica Black of Bend, a 2005 Summit High School graduate, advanced to the round of 16 in the Oregon Amateur Championship.
Brandon Kearney of Bend, the only remaining Central Oregon golfer, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Oregon Amateur Championship.
Steven Peebles, a recent graduate of Redmond High School won the State Bareback Riding title in the Oregon High School Rodeo Association Finals held at Klamath Falls. Sammy Jo Willis of Terrebonne took first in the girls cutting competition. Both teens now qualify for the National High School Finals Rode to take place July 24-30.
