Future Filmmakers Festival returns to Bend
by Bend Weekly News Sources

BEND, Ore. - BendFilm, Wahoo Films and Pinnacle Event Media Services are pleased to sponsor the third annual Future Filmmakers Festival, to be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 3 at the Summit High School Auditorium.

This year the Future Filmmakers Festival collected more than 60 entries from high schools across the state and will select approximately 20 films for the festival screening.  The films range in length from one to ten minutes and were submitted for consideration in one of four categories:  narrative video, public service announcement, documentary/news stories, and experimental video.

Selected films will be in competition for 13 different awards and over $2,000 in prizes.  In addition, students could also participate in the "72 Hour Shootout," a weekend filmmaking challenge that took place the weekend of April 12.  Winners of the 72 Hour Shootout will also premier at the Future Filmmaker Festival and compete for a $250 prize, provided by "Get Outta My Face."

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online. Tickets are $4.00 for students with ID, $7.00 for adults and $5 for BendFilm members.  Doors open at 5:00 p.m., with screening at 6 p.m.
