WASHINGTON -- Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore said Monday he has no plans to re-enter government service.
In an interview on NBC's "Today" show, Gore responded to a question about whether he would be willing to serve in a "very senior capacity" in an administration headed by Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., who is running second in the polls to Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., in the race for the Democratic Party nomination for president.
"I have no plans to be a candidate myself and I certainly have no plans to go back into government service in any other position," said Gore, who won this year's Nobel Peace Prize for his work in calling attention to the effects of climate change. Gore added he hadn't talked to any of the candidates.
