A suspect in the shooting of a store clerk at a Redmond gas station and convenience mart was quickly apprehended without incident on Saturday afternoon, and has been charged with attempted murder, assault, and unlawful use of a weapon, police reported.
Redmond Police Captain Brian McNaughton said officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Texaco Food Mart at 539 NW 6th Street shortly after 4 p.m., November 3. Officers found the victim, identified as 41-year old Rodney Everet Ringgenberg of Powell Butte, lying on the ground in the parking lot suffering from multiple gun shot wounds.

Ringgenberg was transported by ground ambulance to St. Charles Medical Center in Redmond for treatment of what the captain described as “serious injuries”.
Officers arrested the suspect at the scene without incident. Brian Jack Leu, 28, of Redmond, was lodged in Deschutes County Jail in lieu of $355,000 bail, McNaughton said, and is charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon.
